Khi bạn đang làm việc trong Word, Powerpoint hay Excel thì công việc lưu dữ liệu là điều vô cùng cần thiết. Rất đơn giản bạn chỉ cần nhớ nhấn tổ Ctrl + S. Tuy nhiên khi bạn đang làm việc hăng say thì bạn có thể quên mất. Ngoài ra khi bạn đang làm việc thì không có gì đảm bảo là chiết máy tính của bạn hoạt động an toàn. Không máy máy tính bị treo hay lỡ quên click save khi đóng chương trình thì dữ liệu của bạn sẽ bị mất.

Trong Office thì Auto Save là một tính năng rất hữu ích khi chương trình tự động lưu tài liệu trong lúc bạn đang làm việc.
Để thiết lập tính năng này bạn làm như sau trong Word, Powerpoint, Excel:

Từ menu chọn Tools/Options. Chọn thẻ Save.

Tại Save AutoRecover info every: thiết lập thời gian để chương trình tự động lưu dữ liệu sau mỗi 5 phúc (mặc định10 phúc thì có phần lâu do đó dễ mất nhiều dữ liệu nếu bạn đang đánh máy).
Khi gặp sự cố ví dụ mất điện hoặc chương trình bị treo và đóng lại mà bạn chưa lưu tài liệu. Sau khi máy tính hoạt động lại bình thường bạn khởi chạy chương trình (ví dụ mình chạy Word sau khi máy tính bị đột ngột tắt). Trong lần đầu tiên chương trình được mở lên bạn sẽ thấy bên trái có một danh sách các móc thời gian chương trình tự động lưu.

Click chọn một móc thời gian lưu gần nhất (nằm trên top) để hiển thị bản lưu gần nhất.
